Wrapped Asparagus Appetizers




A thin layer of lunch meat takes the place of the traditional tortilla on these wraps. But you can use the tortilla if you want. You can also add fresh herbs to the cream cheese mixture, or some sweet diced onion or garlic. The secret is to use what you enjoy, ham, turkey, prosciutto, or even rice paper its up to you. 





WRAPPED ASPARAGUS APPETIZERS 

Ingredients
1 lb cooked asparagus or carrots (carrots cut into stick shapes after cooking)
1 large red, yellow, or green bell pepper
8 oz room temp. softened cream cheese
1 or 2 dashes hot pepper sauce
2 or 3 packages smoked ham or turkey thin sliced luncheon meat

Directions
Cook asparagus and/or carrots to al-dente, drain, and cool  and set aside.

Mix together cream cheese and pepper sauce until well blended.
Carefully spread cheese mixture on each slice of meat.
Wrap lay asparagus on cream cheese layer, top with red peppers, carefully roll and secure with a tooth pick if needed. Chill in refrigerator for 1/2 hour.

When chilled and firmed up, slice into 1 inch sections,  and serve.
